One schoolgirl and a businessman were killed in two separate road accidents at Babuganj and Gounadi upazilas in Barisal on Wednesday noon.
Sajjad Hossain, Gournadi police station officer in charge, said Sanjida, 14, class-nine student of Dhandiba secondary school of Gournadi, suffocated to death after her scarf on neck rolled up with the wheels of battery operated auto-rickshaw at Illa near Barisal Dhaka-Highway on Wednesday noon.
Habul Haoladar, father of the victim, said her daughter was returning home from school and she declared dead after brought to Gournadi upazila health complex at 2:30 PM Wednesday.
