Schoolboys beat up teacher in Comilla for changing girls’ classroom

Five students of Nimsar High School in Burichong upazila of the district have allegedly beaten up one of their teachers leaving him injured over a trivial matter on Monday.
The injured teacher has been identified as Amir Hossain, who had been an assistant-teacher of Nimsar High School for the past 27 years.
Officer-in-Charge of Burichong Police Station Mezbahuddin said the five students of class 10 swooped on the teacher as he and his colleagues had recently changed the classrooms of female students of class 9 to prevent stalking by boys.
Four among the accused were identified as Md Halim, Md Shaheen, Md Jobayer, and Md Jihad, students of class 10 of same school, the OC said.
Police detained three of the students but they were later released on bond as the teacher did not file a complaint against them, said OC Mezbahuddin.
Amir Hossain said all the teachers had jointly decided to change the classroom of the girls.
