A school boy was stabbed to death over senior-junior dispute at Chadni Ghat area of Chowk Bazar in the city on Saturday.
The student succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) in the morning.
The deceased was identified as Hasan, 16, a candidate of Junior School Certificate (JSC) Examination from a local school. He was a resident of Posta area of Lalbagh, located in the old parts of Dhaka.
Md. Ali, the deceased’s father, said that 3-4 persons stabbed Hasan in the belly and fled from the scene on Friday night, following a senior-junior dispute in his locality.
Later, locals took him to DMCH, however, he died the next day.
Sub-Inspector (SI) Bachchu Miah of DMCH Police Camp said that the body was kept in the morgue for post-mortem examination.
