A court here on Thursday placed Geda Miah, a RAB informant, on a fresh three-day remand in schoolboy Syeed murder case.
Sylhet Chief Metropolitan Magistrate ABM Jahirul Goni Chowdhury passed the order when police produced him before the court upon completion of his three-day remand in the case, seeking seven-day remand for him.
On March 16, Sylhet Metropolitan Magistrate Court- 1 Judge Shahedul Karim granted three-day remand to Geda Miah when investigation officer of the case produced him before the court with 10-day remand prayer.
On March 14, police recovered decomposed body of Abu Sayeed, 9, a class-IV student of Shahi Eidgah Hazrat Shahi Mir Govt Primary School, from the house of police constable Ebadur at Jharnapar in the city after he was kidnapped on March 11 (Wednesday).
Police arrested Ebadur, Rakib and Geda in this connection.
The arrestees were interrogated overnight at the police station when they reportedly confessed to killing the schoolboy.
Abdul Matin, victim’s father, filed a murder case against the arrestees and three other unidentified people in this connection.
