A school student was electrocuted while he was passing through Kaptai Lake area near Rangamati College Campus on Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Parvej, 14, son of Younus of Rangamati Governement College Gate area.
Rangamati Kotwali Police Station sources said Parvej came in contact with a live electric wire while crossing Kaptai Lake with a boat in the area around 10am.
He was rushed to Rangamati General Hospital where doctor declared him dead.
