Schoolboy drowns in C’Bazar

A schoolboy drowned in the Bankhkhali River under Ramu Upazila of the district on Friday noon.
The deceased was identified as Arafat, 12, a class five student at Khijari Burmese Govt Primary School and son of Ashraf Ali of Sipahi Para under Fatekharkul Union in the upazila.
On Friday at 12pm, some children were playing football beside the river. At one stage, the football fell in the river. As the children stepped down the river to fetch the football, three of them drowned. Later, locals rescued two children — Ashraf Hossain Khoka, 12, and Minhaz except Arafat. At 5pm, his body appeared on the river water.
