A schoolboy reportedly committed suicide by taking poison at Jashmantapur village in Mohammadpur upazila on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Nur Mohammad, 10, son of Shafiul Islam and a student of class IV of a local school. Police said Nur demanded Tk 200 to his mother in the afternoon. As his mother refused to provide the money Nur went to his room and took poison.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to a local hospital morgue for autopsy on Wednesday morning, said Rabiul Islam, officer-in-charge of Mohammdpur Police Station.
