Police recovered the body of a school teacher from the outdoor department of Kushtia General Hospital in the district town on Wednesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Nur Tipu, 50, son of Mohammad Ali, a resident of Gopalpur village in Sadar upazila. He was an assistant teacher of Barkhada High School in the district town.
Quoting family sources, officer-in-charge of Kushtia Model Police Station Sahabuddin Chowdhury said Nur left the house and went to the district town on Tuesday night following a phone call from an unidentified man.
Several hours later, Nur’s wife Nazmun gave him a phone call, but found the cell phone switched off.
Nur’s body was found in front of the outdoor department of of Kushtia General Hospital in the morning.
Informed by the hospital authority, police recovered the body and sent it to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
