A school headmaster was gunned down and a local leader of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS-Santu Larma faction) injured in a gun attack in Manikchhari upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Chingsa Mong Chowdhury, 55, headmaster of Tintohri High School in the upazila, while injured as Mongsafoai Marma alias

Japan Babu, president of Manikchhari upazila unit of PCJSS (Santu Larma).
Police and locals said a group of gunmen opened fire at the house of Japan Babu in the upazila bazar area around 7:40pm, leaving Chingsa Mong, who was in the house, dead on the spot and Japan Babu injured.
Babu was taken to the upazila health complex.
