The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three people from Sadar upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday night in connection with the rape of a school teacher.
The arrested persons are identified as Bedor Mia, 28, Mustak Mia, 24, and Belal Uddin, 22.
According to RAB officials, a team of RAB-15 arrested them from an under-construction building in P.M Khali area of the town on Tuesday night following a complaint filed with Cox’s Bazar Sadar police station by the rape survivor.
RAB-15 officer and Assistant superintendent of police Nityananda Das confirmed the matter to the media in a press briefing on Wednesday noon.
Earlier, on August 19, prime accused Bedar Mia along with his three associates raped the school teacher at gun point taking her to the under-construction building.
The accused confessed to their crime during primary questioning, said the officer.
The detainees were handed over to Cox’s Bazar Sadar police station.
