School student stabbed to death in Sylhet

A Secondary School Certificate examinee was stabbed to death allegedly by his classmate at Piyarapur village in Osmani Nagar upazila on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Kayes Miah, 16, son of late Lal Miah of the village and a SSC examinee of Iqbal Ahmad High School and college, police said.
Locals said a classmate of Kayes, Matiur Rahman alias Moti, son of Dudu Miah of the same village, stabbed Kayes in front of the main entrance of the college around 3:00pm, leaving him critically injured.
The college principal Nazir Hossain told that Kayes was going home after attending a practical class when he came under attack.
The student died on his way to hospital, he said.
A guardian of a student said elder brothers of Kayes and Moti are activists of the ruling Awami League-backed student organization, Bangladesh Chhatra League.
