School Kabaddi meet begins today

The Vasavi School Kabaddi Dhaka Metropolis (boys’ and girls’) begins today (Wednesday) at five separate venues simultaneously in the city.
The venues are – Motijheel Boys High School, Kabaddi Stadium, Epidien ground, Uttara, Police Line ground, Mirpur and Mohammad Govt. High School ground.
A total of 1,725 participants – 63 of boys’ and 52 of girls’ schools -are taking part in the five-day meet. Sponsored by Vasavi Fashions Limited the event is being organized by Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF).
The champions will receive Taka 40,000 while the runners-up team will get Taka 30,000 as cash award.
After the competition, the BKF will send boys’ and girls’ teams comprising selected boys’ and girls’ players to India to take part in the Kids Kabaddi.
In this regard, a press conference was held on Tuesday at the conference room of Bangladesh Police Head quarters to provide all the details of the meet.
BKF general secretary Habibur Rahman, DIG (administration and discipline), BKF joint general secretary and additional DIG (development) Gazi M Mozammel Haque and Vasavi Fashions Limited chairman Yasir Ahmed Khan were present at the press conference.
