The Polar Ice Cream 24th School Handball tournament (boys’ & girls’) began on Thursday at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium in the city.
Asaduzzaman Mia, Police Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, formally inaugurated the meet as the chief guest, sponsored by Dhaka Ice Cream Limited and organized by Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF).
In the day’s boys’ division matches, Dhaka Residential Model College, Scholastica (Mirpur), BISC, Heed International and Sunnydale won their opening matches after beating their respective rivals.
In the girls’ division matches, Dhanmondi Tutorial, Scholastica (Uttara), Shaheed Anwar Girls College, Shaheed Anwar Girls College and Viqarunnisa Noon School & College won their opening matches after beating their respective rivals.
