St.Gregory’s High School and Viqarunnisa Noon School emerged champions in boy’s and girls’ section respectively winning their respective finals of the Atom Gum U-12 School Handball competition (boys’ & girls’) held on Monday at Captain M Mansur Ali Handball Stadium.
In the first semifinals Viqarunnisa Noon School outplayed Shaheed Bir Uttam Anwar College by 5-1 goals while in the second semifinal Sunnydale hardly had to sweat as they defeated Heed International School by 4-1 goals.
In the afternoon, Viqarunnisa Noon School fought hard to register a 9-7 goals win over Sunnydale in the final.
Later, Shaheed Bir Uttam Anwar College bagged the third position as they beat Heed International School in keenly contested position deciding match.
In the boy’s section matches, St. Gregory’s High School were in impressive form as they beat 09-06 Dhaka Residential Model College by 9-6 goals in the first semifinals. In the second semifinals BAF Shaheen College dump sunnydale by 12-03 .
In the final, St. Gergory’s High School beat BAF Shaheen College by 16-09.
A total of 23 schools handball teams, including 13 of boys’ and 10 of girls’ teams, took part in the meet, sponsored by Atom Gum and organized by BHF.
