A school girl abducted from her home at Sagordi Rupatali area of Barisal on Sunday was recovered from Patuakhali by police on early Wednesday.
The recovered school girl Sumaiya Tanzila, 14, was daughter of Shafikul Islam and her alleged abductor was Asma Akhter Sukhi, 26, a resident of Gopaldi under Patuakhali Sadar upazila.
Police taking both to Barisal with the help of Patuakhali police handed over the victim to her family members and sent the alleged abductor to Barisal jail after producing before the court on Wednesday afternoon, said Shah Md. Awlad Hossain, officer in charge of Barisal Kotwali police station.
Sub Inspector Nazrul Islam, investigation officer of the case lodged by Shafikul Islam, father of the victim and a teacher of a local madrasa, said the accused abductor Sukhi was a staff of the same madrasa and have good relation with his family and daughter Sumaiya.
On July 17 complainant of the case alleged that accused Sukhi collecting Tk 50 thousand and 10 tola gold ornaments from his house and abducting Sumaiya fled from the area.
Then police starting investigation recovered the victim, cash money and ornaments from the house of Shukhi on early Wednesday, police sources added.
