Nor’wester lashed many villages of Kishoreganj district killing one school boy and injuring 100 others including women and children on Tuesday midnight.
Besides, the Nor’wester damaged a large number of houses and uprooted two hundred of trees and disrupted power supply in 13 upaziles of the district.
The victim has been identified as Babul (7) son of Md. Harun-ur-Rashed student of class one in Amti Shibpur village of Kishoreganj Sadar.
Local and police said Babul was killed in house collapses.
Nor’wester damaged dwelling houses, educational institutions, shops, Boro crops, vegetables and uprooted many trees and electric poles in the affected areas.
200 houses damaged by storm in Natore.
UNB from Natore adds: Over 200 thatched and tin-roofed houses were damaged by a violent storm in five upazilas of the district on Wednesday night.
The storm with heavy rain started at about 10:00pm.
The storm, which lasted for two hours, also damaged crops at the affected villages in Sadar, Singra, Gurudaspur and Naldanga upazilas.
It uprooted trees and electric poles, disrupting power supply to the upazilas.
