The admission process into government high schools in the capital city will start from 15 December.
This year, the admission will be completed through lottery system from Class I to Class IX.
The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education sent a proposal to the Education Ministry to fix the date for lottery on 30 December. A special software will be used for the lottery.
Professor Syed Golam Faruk, director general of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, told The Business Standard that they will issue a notice after getting the ministry’s approval to start the admission process.
There are 39 government secondary institutions with 11500 seats.
The catchment area will be 50% instead of 40%. In the case of cluster-based admission, the student can select five schools in a lottery.
