The National University (NU) has announced schedules of the examinations that were postponed recently.
As per the new schedules published on Thursday, the tests will be taken from May 24..
Besides, the activities of admissions to first year honours courses under the National University for 2020-21 academic session will begin on June 6.
Earlier in the day, police detained 10 students for interrogation while they were staging demonstrations at Shahbagh intersection in the capital protesting the National University’s decision postponing all examinations.
Police picked them up in the morning when they took to the street to press home their demand, said Deputy Commissioner (Ramna zone) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Sajjadur Rahman.
Earlier, the government altered its decision to postpone the examinations of the students of seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University following student protest.
On Monday, the National University postponed all the examinations until further notice in line with the government’s decision.
Before that, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said classes and examinations of the universities would remain halted until May 24.
She said universities would reopen on May 24 and before that, resident halls will open on May 17.
Resident students, teachers and employees would be vaccinated against coronavirus by May 17, Dipu Moni said.
