Terming killing of progressive and free minded writer Avijit Roy as brutal and cowardice act, the Sector Commanders’ Forum (SCF) on Saturday demanded taking stern legal action against killers and instigators of Avijit murder in a fastest possible time.
In a statement, the forum members said this national body (the forum), carrying spirit of the Great War of Liberation and History, believes such kind of brutality against progressive and free minded person is basically a hit to the foundation of tolerant democratic culture and expression of different opinions that exists in the state and the social life of Bangladesh.
The forum believes time has come to make an all out resistance by all conscious citizens against this dangerous trend.
The forum also believes that if fast and stern legal punishments would be taken against killers of eminent writer Professor Humayun Azad and blogger Rajib Hayder, the brutal murder of a free minded youth like Avijit might be halted.
