Sylhet City Corporation (SCC) presented its annual budget of Tk 1040.20 crore for the 2022-2023 fiscal year.
Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury announced the budget at a press conference held at a convention centre at the city’s Arambagh on Monday.
In the budget, 45.2 crore 28 thousand Tk. from holding tax, 16 crore Tk. tax on transfer of immovable property, 8 crore 50 Tk. tax on profession and business, 4 crore Tk. 50 thousand Tk. for rent of city corporation property and shops, monthly charges for water connection A total of 101 crore 10 lakh 50 thousand taka in various sectors including 6 crore 50 lakh taka has been estimated significant income of SCC.
The budget mentions major expenditure areas for urban drainage, clean water supply and infrastructure projects. The expenditure in this sector has been estimated at Tk 480 crore. Besides, the expenditure in the revenue sector has been estimated to be more than 90 crore.
Mayor Arif mentioned that he has presented this budget to ensure maximum facilities and services to the citizens.
