Staff Reporter :The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has decided to refrain from giving the traditional farewell to outgoing Chief Justice M Muzammel Hossain on Thursday.The SCBA, however, will felicitate new Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha who takes over office on Saturday after taking oath.The SCBA, dominated by the pro BNP-Jamaat lawyers, came up with the decision at its special general meeting on Wednesday.Disclosing the decision, SCBA president Khandker Mahbub Hossain, also an adviser to the BNP chairperson, accused outgoing Chief Justice Hossain of turning the judiciary into political premises. Meanwhile, Attorney General Mahbubey Alam told reporters that he, as the leader of the Bar, will give formal goodbye to the outgoing Chief Justice at 10:30 am on his last day of office on Thursday.
