SCBA to protest Rohingya massacre today

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) on Tuesday expressed concern over the killing of Muslim Rohingyas in Rakhine State of Myanmar and announced to form a human chain in front of the Supreme Court on Wednesday to protest the killing.

They also urged to different human rights organisations including United Nations for strong interference in stopping the Rohingya massacre in Myanmar.The SCBA asked the authorities concerned to take back Aung San Suu Kyi’s Nobel peace prize, which was given for her non-violent struggle for democracy and human rights. The SCBA demanded to lay siege to the Myanmar Embassy. Yusuf Hossain Humayun, president of SCBA, made the written demands at a press briefing at the Supreme Court.

According to the written demands placed before the press briefing, it is said the Rohingya massacre in Muslim-majority northern Rakhine State was happening under the leadership of Myanmar’s leader Aung San Suu Kyi. They also urged the different human rights organisations to play a stronger role to stop the killing.
