Standard Chartered Bank Bangladesh has participated in the 2nd UK-Bangladesh e-Commerce Fair held from 13 to 14 November 2015 at the Waterlily Center of East London.
The two-day long fair was a dedicated exhibition focusing on ecommerce and its relevant eco system showcasing the products and services of e-Commerce firms of Bangladesh. It is jointly organised by the Information and Communication Technology Division (ICTD), Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) and the Computer Jagat.
The bank took part in the fair with a stall showcasing its capabilities to drive e-commerce in the country, which was visited and appraised, by the Commerce Ministe Tofail Ahmed, State Minister for ICT Division, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, High Commissioner of Bangladesh in the UK Md. Abdul Hannan.
 Moreover, the senior officials of the bank along with the industry professionals also arranged a seminar titled ‘Focusing on Electronic Delivery Channels’ which captured much enthusiasm and keen interest among the participants. In his message Aditya Mandloi, Head of Retail Banking, Standard Chartered said “We are delighted and encouraged to be a part of this fair and will make ourselves committed to play or role in the rise of ecommerce in Bangladesh. Standard Chartered Bank is proud to be engaged in the growth and development of Bangladesh throughout our 110 years presence in this country.”
The fair aims to bring together the entire e-commerce services and stakeholders from both countries under one platform. Along with more than 50 companies participating and presenting their role in the e-Commerce, many industry professionals have attended to see and experience the latest innovations on display in the fair.
