State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury on Wednesday distributed relief materials among the jobless shipping workers amidst Corona situation on behalf of Shippers Council of Bangladesh (SCB).
Five hundred packets of relief materials were distributed at Sadarghat Launch Terminal building maintaining social distancing. Each of the packet includes 5 KGs of rice, one litre edible oil, two KGs of pulses, two KGs of potato, one KG onion and one soap, said Senior Information Officer of the Ministry Md Jahangir Alam Khan.
Shippers Council of Bangladesh (SCB) came forward in the
government’s relief assistance pogramme amidst Corona situation. Earlier on April 12, the SCB handed over two thousand such packets to Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal in presence of State Minister for Shipping. On April 19, the State Minister for Shipping handed over one thousand packets of relief materials to Dhaka North City Mayor Atiqul Islam.
BIWTA Chairman Commodore Golam Sadek, SCB Chairman Rezaul Karim and Senior Vice Chairman Ariful Ahsan were among others present at this time.
