A section of lawyers of the Supreme Court on Wednesday staged a rally on the Supreme Court Bar Association premises demanding the regular functioning in all the courts and the Appellate Division and High Court Division of the Supreme Court.
The lawyers also demanded to start the hearing on the anticipatory bail petitions, special arrangement for lawyers’ vaccination immediately and loan without interest.
Chief justice Syed Mahmud Hossain in April this year forbade the High Court from hearing petitions seeking anticipatory bail.
Advocate Abdul Jabbar Bhuiyan, President of the SC unit of the Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum, a platform of pro-BNP lawyers, presided over the rally.
Advocate Gazi Kamrul Islam Sajal, Secretary of the SC unit of the forum, Advocate Mohammad Ali, Advocate Rafiqul Islam Talukder Raza, among others, were present in the program.
