A Supreme Court lawyer has “gone missing” in Dhaka city.
Missing Barrister Zubair Ahmed Bhuiyan was a former president of Dhaka University unit Islami Chhatra Shibir. His last known location was Karwan Bazar, on Thursday.
His sister Ferdoshe Begum alleged, men in plainclothes, identifying themselves as detectives, picked him up from Karwan Bazar around 1:30pm on Thursday.
They took him to his office at Bijoy Nagar around 4:00pm and picked up
another man named Bashir, she said; adding that office staff and an advocate saw him in the car.
“We are very worried as we have not found his trace yet,” she said.
Contacted, Dhaka Detective Branch (Db) Assistant Commissioner Sahadat Hossain said they did not pick him up, but they are looking for him and one of his associates.
