The Supreme Court administration on Thursday issued strict instructions to the lower court judges across the country to make maximum use of the working hours by avoiding discussions with the subordinate colleagues during the scheduled working hours.
Md Ali Akbar, Registrar General of the Supreme Court, issued a notification in this regard with the direction of the Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain.
The notification said, “It has recently come to the notice of the apex court that, District Judges,
Metropolitan Sessions Judges, Chief Judicial Magistrates, and Chief Metropolitan Magistrates are late in courtrooms in some districts for discourse with their subordinate judges in their private rooms. In addition, some judges or magistrates leave the court before the scheduled time. As a result, the court’s working hours are not being used in full.”
“In this situation, the District Judges, Metropolitan Sessions Judges, Chief Judicial Magistrates, and Chief Metropolitan Magistrates of the lower courts of the country have been strictly instructed to refrain from discussing with the subordinate judges or magistrates within the stipulated judicial working hours,” also read the notification.
The circular states if any administrative or judicial matter needs to be discussed with the subordinate judges, or magistrates, it can be discussed after the stipulated working hours.
