The government on Monday appointed Cumilla District and Sessions Judge Md Ali Akbar as new Registrar General of Bangladesh Supreme Court.
A Law and Justice Division gazette signed by Deputy Secretary (admin-1) Sheikh Golam Mahbub, Md Ali Akbar has been transferred from his current position on deputation until passing of further order. His appointment came a week after the appointment of former Registrar General Dr Md Zakir Hossain as Additional Judge of High Court Division.
Earlier on October 20, President Md Abdul Hamid appointed nine additional judges including Dr Hossain at High Court Division, for two years from the date of their oath, in line with Article 98 of the Constitution.
