The two-day polls of Supreme Court Bar Association will be held on March 15 and 16. A total of 4,362 members, eligible to vote, will cast their ballots to elect their leaders for 2015-16. “Thirty-five candidates have submitted their nominations. The voting will start at 10 am and will continue till 5 pm on each day with one hour recess,” Nimesh Chandra Das, superintendent of the association, told BSS. The election schedule was announced on February 16.The candidates from pro-Awami League White Panel and Pro-BNP Blue Panel will vie for a total of 14 posts including President and General Secretary. Advocate Yusuf Hossain Humayun and Advocate Momtaz Uddin Mehedi are contesting from White Panel while Advocate Khandaker Mahbub Hossain and Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon are contesting from Blue Panel for the posts of President and the General Secretary respectively.
