Syem Alam took 6 for 32 as Sylhet Division took 139-run overall lead over Rajshahi Division after the second day’s play of 1st round four-day National Cricket league held on Saturday at Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium in Rajshahi.
Back with a narrow 49 runs first innings lead, Sylhet Division started their second innings on the second day afternoon with a shaky note as they scored 90 for 5 at stumps.
Shahanur Rahman and Anwar Akbar were on the crease with 26 and 3 runs as the stumps were drawn for the day. Farhad Reza bagged two wickets while Muktar Ali and Saqlain Sajib shared one each.
Earlier, Rajshai Division were cheaply dismissed their first innings at a paltry total of 79, in reply to a Sylhet Division’s first innings total of 128.
Sylhet Division added only five runs on the second day with their overnight scorer of 123 for 9.
Apart from Sayem Alam’s six wickets haul, Abul Hasan claimed three Rajshahi’s wickets giving away 24 runs.
