Captain Sarker Kamal Sayeed has been appointed as Director of Flight Operations of Bangladesh Biman Airlines with effect from Sunday.
He takes over the role from Captain Dildar Ahmed Tufail who is remaining with the company as a full time line Captain, says a press release.
Captain Sayeed joined the company in June 1980 and has worked as a captain on the 777 fleet since January 2012.
With over 34 years of operational experience, his appointment will add significant value to the ever changing role and responsibility of the Direct of Flight Operations.
After confirming Captain Sayeed’s appointment, Kyle Haywood, Managing Director and CEO of the airline, said “We are delighted to have Captain Sayeed come in to this very important role. He has strong experience and understands completely what is needed in the role in order to be truly effective. Through supporting and developing his team as well as having a solid appreciation of the refocused business objectives, he will be able to consolidate on the good work done to date, taking the department and its contribution to the wider business even further.”
