A sawmill worker slaughtered when working at Daudpur Bazaar of Char Ekkaria under Mehendiganj upazila in Barisal on Friday noon.
The victim was identified as Abdul Gani Haoladar, 35, of the same locality.
Sub Inspector Fakruddin of Mehendiganj police station visiting the spot said Abdul Gani suddenly slipped and his head sawed while he was sawing a large Rain-Tree in that sawmill owned by Naim Biswas at Daudpur Bazaar at about 12:00 noon.
He was working without any precautionary safety measures and died at the spot, the police officer told.
Police recovered the dead body, but later it was handed over to relatives of the victim as they denied lodging any case against this accidental death, Ujjal Kumar Dey, Mehehendiganj police station officer in charge told.
