Savar schoolgirl Nila murder accused placed on 7-day remand

A Dhaka court on Saturday placed Savar schoolgirl Nila Roy murder case’s prime accused Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury on a seven-day remand.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Rajib Hassan passed the order after Police Inspector Nirmul Kumar Das, also the investigation officer of the murder case, produced him before his court.
In the remand prayer, the IO said the accused was directly involved with stabbing Nila Roy to death. So he needs to be remanded to find out the vital clues about the killing and whereabouts of others involved, he added.
On September 20, Nila, a 10th-grader of Aced School, was stabbed death by Mizan, according to the case statement.
97 joint secretaries promoted to additional secretaries

The government has elevated 97 joint secretaries to the rank of additional secretaries in the civil administration.
The Public Administration Ministry on Saturday issued the orders of promotion following the decision of the Superior Selection Board (SSB) led by the Cabinet Secretary and approval of the Prime Minister.
