Saudi port operator and investment group – Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT) – has expressed willingness to invest in Chattogram, Mongla and Payra ports and terminal sector in Bangladesh.
The investment interest came when RSGT associate director Hassan Al Tahat met State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury at his ministry office here today, an official release said.
During the meeting, Khalid welcomed the Saudi investment, saying “The Saudi investment in Bangladesh’s port and terminal sector would become a milestone”.
Under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he said, Saudi-Bangladesh economic relations would be strengthened further.
Shipping Secretary Md Abdus Samad and economic minister at Bangladesh Embassy to the Saudi Arabia Dr Mohammad Abul Hasan were, among others, present at the meeting.
