Saudi firm keen to set up modern cement factory in Chhatak

Saudi business firm ‘Engineering Dimensions’ today expressed its interest to set up a modern cement factory in Chhatak upazila of Sunamganj district.
The Saudi company expressed the keenness while its president Mohammed N Hijji called on Secretary-in-Charge of the Industries Ministry M Abdul Halim at the industries ministry in the city, said a press release.
During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest including issues related to trade and investment.
Abdul Halim said Saudi Arabia is one of the best partners of the country’s development since the expatriate Bangladeshis in Saudi Arabia are playing a vital role in the socio economic development of Bangladesh. He said Bangladesh wants to expedite the trade and investment relations with Saudi Arabia.
Mohammed N Hijji said huge population, domestic demand and skilled workforce of Bangladesh have created an opportunity to attract the foreign investors. So, the Saudi investors want to invest in the country, he added.
Among others, Additional Secretary of the Industries Ministry Begum Parag and Chairman of Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation (BSEC) Chairman M Mijanur Rahman, among others, were present on the occasion.
