Saudi expatriate beaten to death over land dispute in Gazipur

A Saudi expatriate was beaten to death allegedly by his uncle at Rathura Belun village in Kaliganj upazila on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Zillur Rahman, 35, a resident of the village.
Witnesses said Zillur, who had come to his village home two weeks ago, locked in an altercation with his uncle Najuk Mia over the ownership of a piece of land around 11 am.
At one stage, Najuk beat up Zillur with a stick mercilessly, leaving him dead on the spot.
Police recovered the body and sent it to sadar hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Man succumbs to clash injuries in Magura
Magura, June 6 (UNB)-A man who was injured in a clash between two rival groups at Srirampur village in Sadar upazila died at Magura Sadar Hospital early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Abdus Kuddus Molla,50, a resident of the area.
Quoting locals, police said there had been a longstanding conflict between Arju Molla and Taleb over establishing supremacy at the village.
On Friday morning, both Arju Molla and Taleb locked in an altercation over the issue.
At one stage, both’s men, equipped with lethal weapons, attacked each other, leaving 10 people, including Kuddus, injured.
Of the injured, three were rushed to Magura Sadar Hospital.
Later, Kuddus succumbed to his injuries at about 4:00 am on Saturday.
Officer-in-charge of Sadar Police Station Munsi Asaduzzaman, confirmed the incident.
