Southern University authorities have launched a five-week teacher training programme to enhance the quality of higher education. The training program, entitled Certificate in University Learning and Teaching, began on Thursday (September 12th) at the university’s permanent campus, Arefin Nagar in Baizid Thana.
Mark Bartholomew, former director of the British Council and academic adviser of Southern University will train teachers to achieve international and qualitative education in various academic disciplines.
The training program will be conducted primarily in groups A and B in a two-week long training program.
17 teachers from all categories of different departments participated in the Group A training. The training program for the ‘B’ group will begin from September 23.
In the training, teachers will be trained primarily to achieve qualitative and international standards in various areas including English proficiency, teaching techniques, Learning Outcome, Assessment System, Curriculum Design and Self Assessment University Sources Said.
