SAU celebrates 17th Founding Anniversary

The Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) observed the SAU Day amid much enthusiasm, festivity and fanfare mode marking its 17th founding anniversary on Saturday. The whole campus wore a festive look as well as different buildings of the university were decorated with colorful lights, graffiti, festoons and balloons in order to observe the founding anniversary. The day’s program began at 10:00 am with hoisting the national flag and flags of the university. SAU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Kamal Uddin Ahammed formally inaugurated the daylong program releasing pigeons and balloons.
Later, a colorful procession led by the VC was brought out from the in front of academic building, agriculture faculty of SAU which terminated on the campus premises after parading different roads of campus and outside of campus thoroughfares. Teachers, syndicate members, officers and employees and students, different cultural and social organizations like SAU Language Club, Badhan (SAU unit) of the university joined the rally.
In the evening, a cultural program was also held at the SAU central auditorium. AFM Bahauddin Nasim, MP, organizing secretary of Bangladesh Awami League was the chief guest while SAU vice-chancellor chaired by the discussion and cultural session of the Day. SAU Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md. Sekender Ali, Treasurer Prof Dr Md. Anwarul Haque were present at the function, among others. Besides, the Shopnobuz Production of SAU showed a premiere exhibition of their short film named ‘flashback’ directed by Tanvir Wahid Tamim.
