Police have arrested the son of a ruling Awami League lawmaker in Satkhira in two extortion cases. Thirty-three-year old Rashed Sarwar Rumon’s mother reserved seat (312) MP Refat Amin is also the president of the Mohila Awami League district unit.
Police nabbed him from a house at Chourangi intersection of the town around 1:30pm on Sunday, Satkhira Sadar police OC Firoz Hossain Molla said. “Rumon has been arrested in two extortion cases started by Juba League leader Zulfiqar Ali Uzzal and local businessman Sirajul Islam Bullet,” he told bdnews24.com.
“We seized Tk 50,000 and a mobile phone from him,” Molla added.
