Chittagong District police detained Satkania Upazila chairman and Jamaat leader Jasimuddin from upazila Sadar area on Monday evening.
Additional Police Super (South) of Chittagong AKM Imran Bhuyia confirmed the arrest of the chairman Jasimuddin.
He said the incumbent chairman of Satkania is shouldering a number of violence cases with Satkania thana and warrant of arrest was issued against him earlier. Mentionable that Jamaat leader Jasimuddin was elected Upazila Chairman in 2014 , sources said.
