Satkania Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nazrul Islam has been withdrawn as he fined a physician named Farhad Kabir while going to his chamber to see a patient in Satkania sadar. Withdrawn UNO Nazrul Islam has been made Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Ministry of Public Administration.
Satkania Assistant Commissioner (Land) Al Bashirul Islam has been directed to perform the duties of Upazila Nirbahi Officer as an additional responsibility. Chittagong Divisional Commissioner Kamrul Hasan confirmed that he received an order from the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday (July 4) afternoon.
Note that last Friday evening, while going to the chamber to see the patient in the area of Satkania Poura sadar, Upazila Executive Officer realized a fine of one thousand taka from Dr. Farhad Kabir.
At this time Dr. Farhad Kabir told UNO that there were no restrictions on the movement of doctors in the lockdown, he became furious and made all sorts of vulgar remarks about doctors.At one stage UNO Nazrul Islam said, “I can give you jail if I want. I didn’t do that. He paid the fine instantly.
Meanwhile, the day after the incident, the issue of collection of fines from Farhad Kabir was raised to Dr. A M M Minhazur Rahman, Swachip’s Central Organizing Secretary and Divisional Director (Health) Hasan Shahriar. Later, the health director Dr. Hasan Shahriar Kabir informed the Chittagong Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner about the collection of fine from the doctor.

The Ministry of Public Administration, ordered UNO Satkania Nazrul to be withdrawn on Sunday afternoon.
