A leader of outlawed ultra leftist Sarbahara Party killed on Thursday afternoon at Shilundia Bazaar under Agorpur union of Babuganj upazila in Barisal district in ‘gunfight’ with Rapid Action Battalion.
The victim was identified as Abdul Jalil alias Kana Jalil, 49, second in command of Sarbahara Qamrul group in the region.
Captain Abul Bashar, commander of company-1 at Barisal headquarters of RAB-8, confirming the facts said a team of RAB under command of deputy assistant director Abdur Rahman was patrolling at the Sarbahara-prone Agorpur area on Thursday afternoon.
