Sangeeta’s owner Selim Khan dies of Coronavirus

Music director Salim Khan, also the owner of Sangeeta, a well-known audio production company in the country, passed away at the age of 55, at 7:00am yesterday. He was undergoing treatment for Covid-19 at Impulse Hospital in Dhaka. Robin Imran, CEO of Sangeeta, told this correspondent that Salim Khan had been undergoing treatment at Impulse Hospital since December 4, after testing positive for Covid-19. He was put on life support on December 9, as his condition deteriorated.
Salim Khan’s Janazah was held in front of his residence in Laxmi Bazar of the capital after Asr prayer yesterday. He was later laid to rest at Jurain Graveyard, Robin Imran also said.
In the 80s, the production company Sangeeta was founded under the hands of Selim Khan. Sangeeta has maintained its position as the largest music production and distribution company in Patuatuli, Dhaka, for four consecutive decades. The company is still continuing production.
It is believed that the largest music catalog in the country so far is under the banner of Sangeeta i.e. Selim Khan.
