Samsung’s construction unit to build new terminal of HSIA

Samsung Construction & Trading (C&T) Corporation, the construction unit of Samsung Group, has won the project of building Terminal 3 of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.
The new terminal will be built at an estimated cost of Tk 214 billion, of which the government will provide Tk 50 billion, and the rest will be funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The project is expected to be completed by 2023, according to a press release issued by Samsung on Saturday.
About 20 million passengers will be able to travel through the airport annually after the completion of Terminal 3, it read. Samsung C&T Corporation has received a budget of Tk 50 billion (USD 1.6 billion) for the project.
It has built an extensive and varied portfolio of impressive construction achievements through the use of the most advanced techniques and technologies available.
Over the years, the corporation has successfully built globally known landmarks like Burj Khalifa, Petronas Twin Towers, Taipei 101, and Terminal 4 of Changi Airport in Singapore, among others.
It has become a comprehensive engineering and construction firm that is capable of building everything from skyscrapers to the airport, medical facilities, irregular buildings, and even state-of-art manufacturing facilities.
Samsung Electronics Bangladesh has been operating in the country for the past 10 years. Now they even assemble a range of Samsung smartphones at a hi-tech factory in Narsingdi for the local market and have a Research and Development center in Dhaka.
