Juba League (JL) leader Samrat was obsessed with only gambling, and nothing else. he used to go to Singapore for gambling, said his second wife Sharmin.
“His only passion was gambling. He used to go to Singapore casinos often,” she told reporters during Rapid Action Battalion’s (RAB) raid at Samrat’s Mohakhali residence .
Claiming that Samrat was not obsessed with wealth but gambling, Her husband underwent an open heart surgery. That’s why he did not go to his Mohakhali house for last two years as he could not walk up by the stairs, she added.
Terming her husband a good man, Sharmin said “Samrat is a well-behaved person and enjoyed the companions of the organisation’s boys. And he helped people in various ways,” she said.
The elite force detained Dhaka South Juba League President Ismail Chowdhury Samrat from Cumilla’s Chauddagram early Sunday for his alleged link with running casinos at different sporting clubs in Dhaka.
The RAB members alongwith the Juba League’ leader started drive at his personal office in ‘Bhuiyan Trade Center’ in city’s Kakrail.
