Samrat in hospital, condition stable

The physical condition of expelled Dhaka metropolitan South Juba League President Ismail Hossian Samrat was stable, said Dr Afzalur Rahman, the Director of the National Heart Institute and Hospital.
Dr Afzal was speaking with the journalists about the health condition of Samrat who has been undergoing treatment at the hospital.
A three-member informal medical board had been formed, meanwhile, in connection with his treatment.
The Director of the hospital said also that Samrat was admitted to the hospital yesterday and shifted to CCU (Coronary Care Unit). The hospital authorities have formed a three-member informal medical team to treat him. The team includes a cardiac surgeon.
He has been kept on observation. After some pathological test reports everything will be clear. “However, after receiving the report of the examination, a formal medical board will be formed, he added.
The director of the hospital Dr Afzalur Rahman said that he had a heart bulb replacement in 1998. We have already checked that his bulb is working well. Other aspects of his physical condition are also being examined. As he complained with pain, we are trying to review his pain – how severe the pain is.
Earlier, Samrat was brought to Dhaka Medical College (DMC) hospital at around 7am as he fell ill. He was later taken to National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases at 9.30am.
Deputy Jailer of Dhaka Central Jail said that doctors of the DMCH had suggested to admit Samrat to National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Juba League’s Dhaka South unit President Ismail Hossain Samrat and Vice President Arman in Cumilla on Sunday (Oct 6).
Earlier on September 24, the government imposed a travel ban on Samrat.
Following their arrest, Juba League expelled its Dhaka South unit President Ismail Hossain Chowdhury Samrat and Vice President Enamul Haque Arman.
Later on that day, Samrat was jailed for six months in wildlife (Conservation and Security) Act, 2012 on charge of possessing Kangaroo skin.
