Expelled Jubo League Dhaka South unit president Ismail Hossain Samrat, who took benefits from casino trade, has given the names of four more godfathers during interrogation by the law enforcers.
Samrat said, these godfathers had assisted him in the casino trade. Even he gave them a huge amount of money regularly. He said that he had become reckless because of their shelter.
He further said, ask the leaders how much does it cost to organize a meeting in Dhaka city? Who gave this money? Everyone took money from me.
Samrat, also a casio godfather, said that he siphoned off a huge amount of money to Singapore with the help of a man known as ‘Hundi Haque’. A WhatsApp number of Haque has also been recovered from him.
The RAB questioned Samrat and his assistant Arman on Thursday night. However, the names of the four godfathers, the names given by Samrat during interrogation, are being verified. The elite force is not disclosing their names for the interest of the investigation.
Besides, the casino Samrat said that former South Jubo League vice president Sohrab Hossain Swapan is known as an associate of top terrorists Jafar Ahmed Manik and Syed Nazmul Mahmud Murad. He was given an important post on their request. Samrat also made Khaled Mahmud Bhuiyan as organizing secretary of Jubo League South unit on their request.
Meanwhile, the Samrat also disclosed the names of those who had taken a large amount of money from the casino trade.
On the first day of remand, the case was handed over to RAB on Wednesday.
Earlier on Tuesday, Samrat was remanded for 10 days in two cases of arms and drug which filed with Ramna Police Station. On Thursday afternoon, Samrat and his assistant Arman were taken to the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-1) office for interrogation.
The elite force arrested Samrat and his aide Enamul haque Arman, also a Jubo League leader, from Chauddagram upazila of Cumilla district early morning on October 6.
