“Samit is still a trainee singer. I think he should continue his music practice in the long run. Her can render raga based songs or classical music very well. Specially he can render well Nazrul songs. I wish his success,” National Film Award winning music director and country’s one of the noted musicians Sheikh Sadi Khan said this about promising singer Samit Chowdhury yesterday.
Samit has released his two solo albums at a time. One album titled Gondho-Chor is based on Nazrul songs, while another is titled Nilgiri, which are based on modern songs.
Ferdous Hossain Bhuiyan has written lyrics of the modern songs based album, which tunes and music were composed by Sheikh Sadi Khan. On the other hand, noted Nazrul singer Salauddin Ahmed has coordinated the Nazrul songs based album. Both the albums were released under the banner of Laser Vision last week.
While talking about his two albums Samit told this correspondent, “With the inspiration of my parents I have attached myself with music. Though I haven’t completed my study I have tried my level best to give something to the listeners. I hope with the everybody’s cooperation I can continue my activities in the music industry.”
