Snehasish Mahmud & Co., Chartered Accountants, organized a presentation and discussion to highlight the important changes and salient features of the Finance Bill 2022, at Amari Dhaka inGulshan. The Finance Bill was earlier presented in the National Parliament on 9th June.
This session focused on how the Finance Bill 2022 would impact the business community at large and its effect on the national economy. The opening remarks were given by the Founding Partner, Zareen Mahmud Hosein, CPA, FCA. Snehasish Barua FCA, Founding Partner of the firm delivered the technical presentation, emphasizing on the changes in Income Tax, VAT & Customs & Excise Duty.
The technical session was followed by a panel discussion of industry leaders, Economists, Chamber Leaders, Journalist.
Mr. Md. Saiful Islam, President of MCCI spoke on the effect of the proposed budget on the corporate sectors. Mr. Tapas Mondal, MD of Coca-Cola Bangladesh Beverages emphasized on foreign investment in light of the budget.
Dr. M. Masrur Reaz, the founder and chairman of Policy Exchange of Bangladesh commented on how the proposed budget will help combat the current economic situation; and Ms. Sharmeen Rinvy, the President of Economic Reporters’ Forum expressed her views on the national budget from the perspective of individuals and corporates.
Various clients of the firm and leaders of the business community also attended the event.
