Gafargaon (Mymensingh) Correspondent :
Abdul Hamid Khan Bhasani, the once oppressed public leader, is the simple-minded man of all ideologies and is the dearest brother of all in Gafargaon. Atpaure life was like a favorite leader. People know him as a companion of the poor, a friend of the oppressed, a spokesman for hardworking people, a compassionate social worker. Inspired by Bhasani’s ideals at a young age, he joined his team. In the middle of it, the behavior of the favorite leader, let’s talk. Since then my favorite dress is Punjabi, lungi and palm hat. Dear Subal Bhai, I still see such clothes.
The rhythm hat has lost its usefulness in the whirl of time. So now the cloth hat falls on his head. And everything is exactly his life. After the death of the beloved leader, he also left the party. However, he did not deviate from the norm. He is still in the alley of simple life. Non-violent, just, always smiling, this man is now in his eighties. Walking so far, I have become a little overwhelmed by the disease. This small body is suffering from malnutrition. At the same time there is extreme financial hardship in life. Even so, dear Subal Bhai is still in danger. Public service in life is like his vows. Hundreds of lives have been saved from cholera in the post-independence period.
He has given courage from the side in the life of hardworking people. He has become a lamp of light and has removed the darkness of thousands of people. He has spent all the springs of his life in the service of innumerable people. Has served in the field of culture. He also holds the title of an extraordinary actor. He wrote various folk songs including Lafa Begun from Gafargaon. Like that Taleb master of poetry, the unfortunate lamp-bearer .. .. his own life is dark. Life has come in the evening and people have been forced to turn the wheel of life by grace. He frankly admitted that many people cooperate with him in his illness.
The man was born in the traditional Mir dynasty of Saltia Union in Gafargaon. His full name is Mir Monaim Salehin Subal. Everyone calls him Subalda out of love. The biggest regret of the life of this man of non-communal consciousness is the recognition and certificate of the freedom fighter.
On the eve of the golden jubilee of independence, there is still a lot of hope for that dignity. He did not get the title of heroic freedom fighter even after applying.
Because he did not fight on the battlefield with arms. Nine months in the great liberation war in building this Bangladesh of Bangabandhu, those who fought with the Pak army on the battlefield at the risk of their lives, only they are heroic freedom fighters! Those who were the organizers of the liberation war, artists of Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra, Shabd Sainik, those who saved their lives by serving the war wounded freedom fighters in different camps, were all proud soldiers of the great liberation war. In an independent country, they all got the dignity and honor of freedom fighters. Just didn’t get this simple Subal Da.
He said that at the beginning of the war of liberation, went to Meghalaya, India through Haluaghat after rescuing and burying the victims of the bomb blast at Gafargaon Bazar on 17 April. There he received medical training at the local Warenka camp and at the medical camp of the Indian Memorial Camp. There he came in contact with the organizer of the Liberation War in Gafargaon, Abul Hashem (winner of the election of 1970 and the first Member of Parliament of 1970), the organizer of the Liberation War of Greater Mymensingh, Bhati Shardul and the present President Abdul Hamid. Both of them are alive, but Abul Hashem is amnesiac due to his age.
In this context, Mir Monaim Salehin said, the last wish of life, with the recognition of this freedom fighter after death so that we can go to the last bed covered with the flag of Bangladesh. That’s why I want a meeting with the President. He is the only one who can identify me as a servant in the camp of the memorial camp during the liberation war.
The people of Saltia Union elected him as the UP chairman in 2003 in return for their love for this born revolutionary. He moved away from the ideological position and joined the BNP. He is still in this team. But never lost morality. From the greedyless position he has successfully fulfilled the responsibilities of the public representative. The rare volunteer spends his last days in a village hut with his grand daughter Parul Yasmin. To the poor, he is still alive and well, long live everyone’s dear brother, trust in the Lord and look forward to meeting the President.
